The Radeon RX 8000 Series, AMD’s new generation of RDNA 4-based GPUs, will feature GDDR6 memory, just like the current Radeon RX 7000 Series, and a memory speed of up to 18 Gbps, according to new rumors that have been shared online. GDDR6 is significantly slower than GDDR7; the first generation of that memory is expected to deliver speeds of around 32 Gbps per pin.
AMD’s current GPUs with 20 Gbps memory include:
- Radeon RX 7900 XTX
- Radeon RX 7900 XT
- Radeon RX 7800 XT (19.5 Gbps)
AMD’s current GPUs with 18 Gbps memory include:
- Radeon RX 7900 GRE
- Radeon RX 7700 XT
- Radeon RX 7600 XT
- Radeon RX 7600
